WhatsApp dismissed the May 15 deadline
As WhatsApp was giving deadlines for new privacy policy to update till 15th of May, if policy update is not accepted the account will be deleted. But now a WhatsApp spokesman said that no account will be deleted.
Firstly they have announced 8th February deadline to accept new policy but it was extended by 15th of May and now this announcement is dismissed.
WhatsApp had faced severe backlash over user concerns about sharing of data with parent company Facebook.
This new policy doesn’t impact the privacy of anyone’s personal messages. It will only provide information new features and options for the users. Acceptance of new privacy policy will provide you information only.
Company stated to take the every opportunity to explain how it protects the privacy of people’s messages. Digital platforms become the most important place for people looking for oxygen cylinders, medical services, blood, plasma etc. in the second wave of this Covid-19 pandemic.
Many people accepted the new policy and many more were confused about this but also worried about deletion of account, but now WhatsApp spokesman made it clear that no account will be deleted.
